LYUDMILA VARLAMOVA

Lyudmila Varlamova, born in 1951, a contemporary artist.

In 1976, she graduated from the Moscow Regional Institute of Culture named after N.K. Krupskaya, art-and-graphic department.

Since 1989 - a full member of the Moscow Union of Artists, as well as a member of the International Art Fund.

Lyudmila Varlamova is a representative of the French Association named after Anna Yaroslavna at UNESCO in Moscow.

Lyudmila Varlamova is engaged in painting and graphics; she

creates collages and sketches for painting of crafts objects. The author prefers to work in oil, gouache, acrylic, watercolors and pastel. The artist boldly experiments with techniques and trends, improvises creating monotypes. The author likes to use mixed media, combining different materials, forms, textures, methods, creating extraordinary, refined and stylish things. Lyudmila Varlamova works in various genres: landscape, still life and portrait; she also creates compositions including abstract ones. A peculiar feature of Lyudmila Varlamova's work is a variety of topics: carnivals, music, dances, theaters, unusual situations and collisions from life; a special place is given to female images. The author creates thematic series of works. The author has created a series of monotypes dedicated to the works of the Russian poet A.S. Pushkin.

The artist pays great attention to plein air painting. Her works capture the landscapes of Russia, Czechia, Italy, Lithuania, France, and the USA. The artist's works are filled with the finest nuances and bright shades of a cheerful palette.

Since the 1980’s Lyudmila Varlamova has been an active participant and winner of international art exhibitions and competitions. The artist held a number of solo exhibitions in Russia, Italy, France, Czechia, Cameroon, Lithuania and the USA. Lyudmila Varlamova's works are kept in many private collections.
